Bridge over Aviso stream

Total collapse of a municipal bridge over the Aviso stream near Cavalese (Trento, Trentino-Alto Adige) on 29-30 October 2018, caused by the Tempesta Vaia storm system. Cavalese, in the Val di Fiemme, was one of the most severely affected municipalities in Trentino during Vaia: the Aviso torrent and its tributaries overwhelmed their banks, destroying infrastructure and isolating communities. The broader Vaia event caused 2 deaths in Trentino and over 500 evacuations across the province. No fatalities directly attributed to this specific collapse.
