Bridge over Degano stream
Partial collapse of a provincial/regional bridge over the Degano stream near Comeglians (Udine, Friuli-Venezia Giulia) on 29-30 October 2018, caused by the Tempesta Vaia storm system. The Carnia region, including Comeglians, was among the most severely affected areas in Friuli, with seven people evacuated and the entire area losing electricity for several days. The Degano river and its tributaries overflowed, damaging or destroying multiple infrastructure elements. No fatalities directly attributed to this collapse.
