Bridge over Aterno river

Partial collapse of a municipal bridge over the Aterno river in L'Aquila (Abruzzo) on 6 April 2009 during the M6.3 earthquake. Infrastructure damage to bridges and roads across the L'Aquila valley was a significant element of the overall disaster, which caused 309 deaths. No fatalities directly attributed to this specific collapse.
