Bridge over Mazaro dry riverbed
Total collapse of a municipal bridge over the Mazaro dry riverbed near Salemi (Trapani, Sicily) on 8 February 2018, triggered by exceptional rainfall that caused the normally dry Mazaro riverbed to fill rapidly. Winter storms in western Sicily in February 2018 caused widespread hydraulic damage. No fatalities or injuries were reported.
